At a time of exciting developments in the School of Art, Design and Architecture, a highly creative and enthusiastic individual is required for the post of Reader in Graphic Design within the Department of Art and Communication. The reader will maintain active research securing high quality outputs appropriate to the subject and build a record of academic distinction through publication/exhibition and contribution to major conferences and events. The reader will also become an integral part of the studio and contextual teaching and learning on the B.A (Hons) Graphic Design and Animation suite of courses and postgraduate provision.
The department currently offers an exciting interdisciplinary mix of art and design courses. Our approach to Graphic Design & Animation is wide ranging, building on the potential for contemporary experimental, commercial and trans-disciplinary practices. The department is committed to promoting high quality learning which reflects contemporary knowledge and understanding related to studio practice, theoretical contexts, forms of public display and industry.
Educated to doctoral level we are looking for a graphic design specialist with a good professional/practice/research track record within their discipline and with current experience of working within Higher Education.
You will be joining a dedicated, enthusiastic and forward-thinking department of Art and Communication and will support Subject and Course Leaders in a range of teaching and professional activities, while developing your research profile.
